Lancashire Business Networking FAQs

What types of businesses attend?2026-03-25T18:40:11+00:00

What types of businesses attend?

We welcome a wide range of business owners and professionals across Lancashire at our networking groups.

Our Better Networking groups are designed to bring together a strong mix of industries, creating opportunities to build meaningful relationships and generate referrals.

Where possible, we aim to avoid having multiple members from the same sector within a group. This helps ensure fairness and allows each member to stand out within their area of expertise.

Many of our members run service-based or professional businesses and are looking to grow through relationships, visibility, and consistent opportunities. You can be confident that there’s a good blend of people when it comes to what types of businesses attend.

Will there be pressure to join a networking group?2026-03-24T16:13:54+00:00

Will there be pressure to join a networking group?

No, there’s no pressure to join. You’re welcome to visit a group twice, meet the members, and experience how it works. You’re encouraged to do this before making any decisions about joining.

We don’t believe in putting visitors on the spot or expecting immediate commitments. Instead, our Lancashire business networking groups are designed to be relaxed and supportive. The focus is on building genuine relationships and referrals over time.

Many of our members tell us they chose Better Networking Hubs specifically because of this friendly, no-pressure approach, while still getting real results.

What if I can’t give many leads and referrals?2026-03-24T16:07:45+00:00

What if I can’t give many leads and referrals?

If you can’t give many leads and referrals, it’s no problem at all. You don’t need to bring lots of leads or referrals to be a valuable member.

At Better Networking Hubs, we focus on building strong relationships first. As members get to know, like, and trust each other, referrals and opportunities grow naturally over time.

Our Lancashire business networking groups are designed to be supportive and relaxed, with no pressure to refer for the sake of it. Quality always matters more than quantity.

Many of our members join with the same concern and find that as their knowledge, confidence, visibility, and connections grow, so do their referrals.

Referrals are a natural result of strong relationships, not something you should feel pressured to produce. Hopefully, this gives you the reassurances you needed if you were asking yourself what if I can’t give many leads and referrals.

Will I have to do a 60 second pitch?2026-03-24T19:03:04+00:00

Will you have to do a 60 second pitch?

Most people who are new to networking might feel nervous about speaking in public. So, the prospect of having to do a 60 second pitch is understandably worrying, so let us reassure you.

You will have the opportunity to introduce yourself and your business. However, there’s no expectation to be pitch perfect.

Our Better Networking Hubs groups in Lancashire are supportive and encouraging; our members have all done this for the first time and are testament to how you will build confidence over time.

Your introduction is simply a chance to share what you do and how others can help you generate referrals. Many members find that the more they attend, the easier and more natural it becomes.

You’ll be supported every step of the way, so you can develop your networking skills at your own pace. Many members start off feeling unsure, but quickly grow in confidence and begin to enjoy sharing what they do.

It also helps when you realise you’re not selling to the people in the room. Instead, they’re there to help you make introductions outside of the group.

Do members have to attend every networking meeting?2026-03-24T15:46:49+00:00

We encourage regular attendance, as consistency helps you build stronger relationships and get the most from your networking.

However, we understand that running a business means things don’t always go to plan. If you can’t attend a meeting occasionally, there’s no pressure, and we’ll always be as flexible as possible.

At Better Networking Hubs, we aim to create a balance between commitment and realism. Regular attendance helps maintain the strength of the group, but we also recognise that members may need time away for holidays, business commitments, or unforeseen circumstances.

Where needed, members can arrange for a substitute to attend in their place, helping maintain continuity within the group. This can be done privately or through our Sub Hub, where members can connect with suitable substitutes who are happy to attend on their behalf.

Who We Are

Bringing over 18 years of experience running North West networking groups before launching Better Networking Hubs, we know a thing or two about business networking groups. It’s traditional networking, brought up to date with a fresh, more supportive and effective approach that delivers real results.
